Surviving Archlinux

Archlinx is a rolling distribution that provides certain challenges to it’s users.  With each upgrade the version numbers of the upgraded applications change.  A mechanisms needs to be in place which correctly reflects the current version of key software.

A combination of scripts and c++ programs allows for capturing version information into text file.  The resulting text files are loaded into memory where they may be messaged and utilized in multiple version software reports.

The resulting solution includes a URL that will divulge more information for each software in the report.
